Mirror Supply & Installation Across East Auckland

    Types of Mirrors We Supply

We supply a range of mirror types for different applications:

    Standard Clear Mirror

The most common mirror type — a standard float glass mirror with a silver reflective backing and protective copper and paint coating. Available in 3mm, 4mm and 6mm thickness. Suitable for most residential applications including bathrooms, bedrooms, and hallways.

    Low-Iron / Starphire Mirror

Standard glass has a slight green tint that becomes visible in larger mirror panels. Low-iron glass has a clearer, more neutral appearance — recommended for full-wall mirrors in gyms, dance studios, and retail spaces where colour accuracy matters.

    Tinted Mirror

Bronze and grey tinted mirrors are available for decorative applications and certain commercial uses where a warmer tone is preferred.

    Safety-Backed Mirror

A safety backing film applied to the rear of the mirror — recommended for gymnasiums, children’s areas, and any application where breakage could cause injury. If the mirror breaks, the film holds the fragments in place.

    Mirror Installation Across East Auckland

We install mirrors throughout East Auckland and the wider Auckland region. Key installation considerations include:

    Wall Substrate

Mirrors must be installed on a solid, flat, and dry wall surface. Plasterboard, tile, concrete, and timber stud walls are all suitable provided the substrate is in good condition. We will advise if any wall preparation is required before installation.

    Mirror Adhesive

We use specialist neutral-cure mirror adhesive that will not attack the silver backing of the mirror (standard construction silicone and solvent-based adhesives will etch mirror backing and cause black spots). Correct adhesive selection is critical for longevity.

    Mechanical Fixings

For large or heavy mirrors — particularly gym and dance mirrors — we supplement adhesive with discrete mechanical fixings (mirror clips or channel systems) to prevent movement and provide a safety backup if adhesive fails.

    Edge Finishing

All cut mirror edges are polished smooth. For bathrooms and other applications where the edge will be visible, we offer pencil-polish and bevelled edge options for a premium finish.

    FAQ

    Mirror FAQs

Yes. We cut and polish mirrors to any size and shape at our Howick workshop. Common custom shapes include arched tops, rounded corners, and irregular shapes for specific architectural features.

Large mirrors (particularly full-wall gym and dance mirrors) are installed using a combination of specialist mirror adhesive and mechanical fixings. We use a channel system at the base to bear the weight, with adhesive and clips at regular intervals to prevent movement. All large installations are designed to remain secure even if adhesive fails over time.

Yes. Bring us the dimensions of your existing mirror (or we can visit to measure) and we'll cut and install a replacement. We can also supply and install mirror with a polished or bevelled edge for a premium look.

Yes — gym mirror installations are one of our specialties. We have installed full-wall and ceiling-height mirror systems in home gyms, commercial gyms, and dance studios throughout East Auckland. Call us to discuss your requirements.
