Glass Safety Requirements in NZ
NZS 4223 specifies where safety glass is required in NZ buildings — within 500mm of a door, large windows below 1500mm, glass doors, shower glazing, and other critical locations. Standard float glass is acceptable for non-critical, high, or small pane locations. Our glaziers always specify the correct glass type and thickness for your application.

Yes. We cut glass to any size at our Howick workshop with all exposed edges ground smooth.
For most standard residential windows, 4mm float glass is appropriate. Larger panes, high wind zones, or safety-critical locations may require thicker or toughened glass. Call us with your dimensions and we'll recommend the correct specification.
Yes. We supply cut-to-size glass directly to homeowners and tradespeople. Pick up from our Howick workshop or arrange delivery.
